These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of NeatLock (the "App"), developed by John Steinmetz. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
NeatLock is a personal photo and video management application that provides a secure media vault and library cleaning tools. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use to help users organize, secure, and manage media stored on their iOS devices.
NeatLock requires access to your photo and video library to provide its core features. By granting this permission, you authorize the App to read and analyze your media on-device only for the purpose of identifying duplicates, low-quality photos, screenshots, and other content you choose to manage. No photos or videos are uploaded to any server.
You can revoke photo library access at any time via iOS Settings. Revoking access will disable library cleaning features but will not affect media already moved into the secure vault.
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DELETION AND VAULT DECISIONS. When you delete photos or videos using NeatLock, those items are permanently removed from your library in accordance with iOS behavior. John Steinmetz is not responsible for the accidental or unintended deletion of any media. We strongly recommend maintaining backups of important photos and videos through iCloud Photos or another backup method before using any cleaning or deletion feature.
The secure vault is protected by your device's Face ID or Touch ID. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and Apple ID. If you lose access to your device or are unable to authenticate, vault contents may be inaccessible. John Steinmetz is not responsible for loss of access to vault contents.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using NeatLock, you represent that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
Some features require a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date through Apple's subscription management.
Payments are processed by Apple using your Apple ID. John Steinmetz does not store payment card information. Subscription entitlements are managed using RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous, app-scoped device identifier — no photos, videos, or personally identifying information is shared with RevenueCat. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
To cancel: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → NeatLock → Cancel Subscription.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, distribute, or create competing products based on this App.
NeatLock, including its software, design, branding, and content, is owned by John Steinmetz and protected by intellectual property law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your use of NeatLock is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how the App accesses and processes your media on-device.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOHN STEINMETZ DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, THAT DUPLICATE DETECTION WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE, OR THAT THE APP IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL FUTURE iOS VERSIONS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JOHN STEINMETZ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF PHOTOS OR VIDEOS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS TO THE SECURE VAULT, OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT USING DELETION AND CLEANING FEATURES IS AN IRREVERSIBLE ACTION AND THAT YOU ASSUME ALL ASSOCIATED RISK.
NeatLock relies on Apple App Store, Apple iCloud / CloudKit, and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or outages.
These Terms are between you and John Steinmetz only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple is not responsible for product liability, regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims related to the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
